All Star Tower Defense Beginner Guide: Story Mode, Units & Gems
What is All Star Tower Defense?
All Star Tower Defense (ASTD) is a Roblox anime tower defense game. You place units on lanes, clear Story acts for gems and materials, then build toward raids and harder modes. New players win by finishing Story efficiently and focusing upgrades on a few strong units — not by spreading resources across every summon.
Your first goals
- Clear Story Mode acts in order. They teach maps and pay out gems, XP, and evolution materials.
- Build a simple core team: one main DPS, one farm/economy unit, and support that buffs or slows enemies.
- Match DPS damage types to enemy enchantments when you can — correct matchups deal far more damage.
- Upgrade your best two or three units hard before leveling a wide bench.
Team roles that matter early
- Farm units (money generators such as popular economy picks like Jeff CEO-style or Idol-type units) keep placement flowing mid-wave.
- Hill / hybrid units help against flying or awkward pathing enemies once maps introduce them.
- AoE DPS belongs on long curves and choke points where enemies travel the farthest.
Learn each map’s path before inventing fancy setups. Placement beats raw rarity in early Story.
Gem and banner advice
- Complete dailies and events before spending gems on impulse summons.
- Save for strong rate-up banners or pity rather than dumping everything into the permanent pool on day one.
- Redeem any active developer codes from official Discord/X before you farm — free gems and tickets help a lot.
Beginner mistakes to avoid
- Spreading gold across ten weak units instead of starring your carry.
- Jumping into raids before units are evolved, leveled, and buffed.
- Ignoring farm units and stalling out of money mid-act.
Stick to Story clears, tighten your core team, then move into Nightmare or raid content once your DPS and farm unit feel reliable.
