Arsenal Beginner Guide: Weapon Ladder, Cover, and How to Win
How Arsenal works in one sentence
Arsenal (by ROLVe) is a Roblox FPS where each elimination advances you up a weapon ladder. Hit the final kill (often Golden Knife) and you win the round. Assists usually count — a few points of damage can still advance your gun.
Core goals for new players
- Climb weapons by getting eliminations (and assists).
- Stay alive long enough to learn each gun’s range and recoil.
- Reach the late ladder and convert with a melee / Golden Knife finish.
Movement and cover fundamentals
- Never stand still in open sightlines. Strafe, peek, and reset behind cover while reloading.
- Use cover — boxes, walls, cars — whenever you have a slow weapon or empty magazine.
- Take high ground when it is safe. Firing down exposes less of your hitbox and sets up drop-melee finishes.
- After an elimination, pause on the green health drop so it actually picks up.
Know the weapon types
- Pistols — Tap for headshots; peek from cover instead of spraying blind.
- Shotguns — Close the gap; avoid long-range sprays unless you only need chip damage for an assist.
- Rifles — Easiest for beginners; control recoil instead of full-mag panic fire.
- Snipers / scoped guns — Hold distance; hip-fire when someone is already in your face.
- Explosives — Rocket jumps and floor shots can create unexpected angles — practice in casual rounds.
- Thrown / projectile weapons — Lead targets and get closer; arcs drop over distance.
Melee is a skill, not a meme
A melee finish often pushes you up a level while sending the victim down. Prefer backstabs from high ground over fair 1v1 knife duels. On PC, Q swaps to melee quickly — many players run with melee out between fights because heavy guns slow sprint speed.
Map habits that win games
- Learn common spawn clusters. After a wipe, enemies usually respawn on the opposite side of the map — rotate with melee out.
- Watch teammate nameplates through walls. A name that vanishes means a fight nearby.
- In standard mode, play for the ladder climb; a Golden Knife kill often seals the win.
Settings that help immediately
- Change crosshair color to something that never blends into map textures (bright pink/green are popular).
- On PC, lower mouse DPI / Roblox camera sensitivity until tracking feels controlled — accuracy beats flicky high sens for most beginners.
First-session checklist
- Set a high-contrast crosshair.
- Play two warm-up rounds focusing on cover, not K/D ego.
- Practice one melee finish from high ground.
- Start tracking spawn flips after team wipes.
Arsenal rewards map knowledge and gun-switching discipline more than raw aim. Master cover, assists, and melee rotations, and wins follow.
