Da Hood Beginner Guide: Combat, Money Routes, and Survival Tips

What Da Hood expects from new players

Da Hood is a Roblox street combat sandbox where melee, guns, bounties, and cash robberies collide. Your first two hours should focus on staying alive, learning the block window, and stacking enough cash for armor plus a basic pistol — not soloing the bank.

Combat basics that matter

  • Melee + firearms + block all matter. Tap block in the short window before a hit lands to stagger attackers; blocking too early drains stamina.
  • Watch your stamina. If you cannot block the next two hits after a swing, do not throw another swing.
  • In gunfights, burst fire (two-shot taps) instead of holding full auto, and always fight near a corner or rooftop edge.
  • Never sprint in a straight line away from shooters — cut perpendicular through cover.

Roles at a glance

  • Civilian — Safest for learning movement and shops.
  • Police — Arrest criminals; medium risk, good combat practice without becoming a bounty magnet.
  • Criminal — Highest payouts (stores, ATMs, bank) but everyone hunts high bounties.

Many beginners start Civilian/low-bounty Criminal for map study, then lean Criminal once 1v1s feel consistent.

Money routes ranked for beginners

  • Shoe stores / Uphill registers — Low risk, under a minute, ideal warm-up cash.
  • Other registers — Slightly higher payouts; watch police response.
  • ATMs — Better money once you can win a 1v1.
  • Bank — Best payout, worst idea solo in starter gear. Wait for a crew and real armor.

Spend order (do not skip armor)

  1. Basic armor
  2. Cheap pistol
  3. Better melee for faster store clears
  4. Ammo stockpile
  5. Revolver / shotgun

Armor buys one extra mistake. A flashy gun with zero armor is how new accounts donate kills.

Map habits

  • Spend the first 30 minutes walking landmarks: Uphill, Hospital, Strip Mall ATMs, Bank, School/Suburbs.
  • Use quieter suburbs/school areas to reset after fights.
  • Leave safe zones unpredictably — camping one doorway teaches bad habits.

Redeem codes early

Da Hood periodically drops promo codes (often announced on official Discord). Open the chest / codes UI, paste exact strings, and redeem before your first long grind session.

First-session checklist

  1. Learn block timing in a low-stakes duel.
  2. Rob shoe stores / registers on a rotation.
  3. Buy armor, then a pistol.
  4. Practice peek shooting from corners.
  5. Skip solo bank until you have a crew.

Da Hood’s learning curve is steep but fair: compress it with armor-first spending, low-risk robberies, and cover-based gunfights.
