Evade Beginner Guide: Bunny Hop, Slide Hop & Chase Survival

Official Roblox experience icon for Evade

FreshGameRadar is an independent fan site and is not affiliated with Roblox Corporation or Hexagon Development Community. This guide is unofficial.

This guide solves one problem: how to survive Evade rounds longer by learning beginner movement and chase habits—not another Nextbot overview. You will learn a practice order for bunny hops and slide hops, how to break line of sight, what to buy first with Points, and the mistakes that feed free downs. Overview: Evade game page. Official play: Roblox — Evade. Free Points: Evade codes.

What this guide solves

New players sprint in a straight line, hold jump, and die to the first aggressive Nextbot. Evade’s skill ceiling is movement: air-strafing, hopping, and using map geometry. Cosmetics can wait—Points should buy survival tools and practice reps.

  • Survive the timer by staying mobile and breaking chases.
  • Learn two techs first: basic bunny hop + slide hop.
  • Revive teammates only when the path is clear.

Step-by-step: movement that actually saves you

1. Lobby setup

Join Evade, open the menu, and note default binds: WASD move, Space jump, C or Ctrl crouch/slide, E interact/revive, M menu (device bindings can vary). Redeem codes from the Codes / shop flow for free Points before you care about skins. Spend early Points on useful perks/items rather than pure cosmetics.

2. Bunny hop (B-hop) fundamentals

  1. Get a running start on flat ground.
  2. Jump the moment you land—do not hold jump continuously (that often slows you).
  3. While airborne, air-strafe: move the camera slightly in the direction you press A or D, matching character and camera.
  4. Alternate strafe sides each hop to build and keep speed. Tiny camera turns beat sharp spins that dump velocity.
  5. Practice in a quiet lobby or low-pressure round before you rely on it mid-chase.

3. Slide hop for an easier speed boost

  1. Run, jump, then release forward (W).
  2. Hold slide (Ctrl/C) and keep hopping while still holding slide.
  3. This is usually easier than advanced hitbox hops and already helps you outrun many Nextbots on open ground.
  4. If timing feels harsh, rebind jump to a comfortable key (some players prefer scroll-wheel jump for hop chains—optional, not required).

4. Chase habits that beat “run straight”

  1. Break line of sight with barriers, corners, ramps, and indoor routes instead of open straightaways.
  2. Use slopes for basic trimps / launches once you have hop speed—exit the slope with an air-strafe rather than riding it forever.
  3. Do not tunnel into a dead end. Pre-plan an exit before you commit to a room.
  4. Revive downed teammates only when the Nextbot is occupied elsewhere; a hero revive into a chase often creates two downs.
  5. On special rounds that disable jump or sprint, fall back to cover routes and item tools instead of forcing hop tech that the rules removed.

5. After the round

Ask one question: did you die from bad movement, bad routing, or greed (revives / loot)? Practice one tech per session. Advanced options (flick hop, wall hug, rotation manipulation) wait until basic bhop + slide hop are stable.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Mistake — holding jump: Tap landing jumps; holding often kills speed.
  • Mistake — turning the camera too hard while air-strafing: Small corrections build speed; whip turns dump it.
  • Mistake — open-field kiting only: Geometry and barriers are part of the kit.
  • Mistake — spending Points only on cosmetics: Survival items and practice matter more early.
  • Tip — carry scenarios: When hopping is limited while carrying, ground strafe spam (A-D rhythm) can help keep velocity until you can hop again.
  • Tip — map knowledge: Learn one map’s safe loops deeply before rotating every lobby vote.
  • Tip — codes: Grab active Point/wisp codes on our Evade codes page (codes are case-sensitive).

FAQ

Do I need macros to play Evade?

No. Basic bunny hopping is intentionally lenient. Macros are a preference some advanced players use for stricter tech—not a beginner requirement.

Why do I still die after learning to hop?

Speed without routing still ends in corners. Combine hops with barriers, alternate paths, and knowing when not to revive.

What should I unlock first?

Whatever helps you survive or relocate—utility items and movement comfort—before rare cosmetics. Check the current daily shop with the Points you earn and redeem.

Where are new codes posted?

Hexagon Development Community channels such as @HDCRoblox on X and the official Evade Discord changelogs are the usual sources. We mirror cross-checked lists on Evade codes.
